I have read about symmetries. Johnine's Foucault's Pendulum is the one to blame for this information hunger of mine. She mentioned about symmetries and I immediately browse inside the lobes of my brain what I know about symmetry. I am talking about symmetry in physics in particular. As far as I remember, I already encountered the word 'symmetry' when I was reading String Theory. Blah Blah Blah.
There are so many kinds of symmetry. There are symmetries in different branches of knowledge. But let's discuss a more familiar one to us: symmetry in physics. Well, there is symmetry in a physical system (since we are talking of physics here) when certain features are "preserved" or remain the same under some changes. For more formal discussion on this you can just search the net.
What I am trying to accomplish here is to present the beauty of symmetry based on my point of view.
Symmetry is a very important assertion and currently one of the foundations of highly remarkable researches. An application of this is the formulation of the hypothesis that anti-matter exists. This is of course very simple and is quite inclined on the philosophical nature of the law of symmetry. But a more concrete example of symmetry is symmetry in space time. An example of which is when an object with mass m is placed at a certain height H, its potential energy is given by mgH. For as long as the object's mass and height is constant, at any given time t the potential energy is unchanged or preserved. A thermometer wherever you place inside a room with maximum entropy(will be discussed later) will read the same temperature. The first example falls under time translation while the second one is categorized as space translation.
Symmetry is used as an assertion that something has its constituent pair. Symmetry is used to predict the existence of antiparticle such as anti-proton.
Mathematical equations transform to obey the law of symmetry. An example is the Lorentz Transformation Factor which is added on existing equation that we use in simple cases to find quantities such as velocity or time for fast-moving objects (close to the speed of light). The said transformation factor is needed since one assumption of Newton's Laws of Motion is for the objects not to move close at the speed of light. But in cases where objects move very very fast, simple equations must transform.
It is quite abstract but symmetry is really necessary.

Yesterday i played our team's second game in our baranggay basketball league. Before we play the game, i was full of confidence that we can pull that one off even if we are facing a team with 2-0 standing, the team with the best record so far in the league. One important note is that they beat the team whom we lost during our first game. But given this informations i did not lose hope. And so the game began. We finished the first quarter with a considerably large 5 point lead. This boosted my confidence. We had a not-so-good second quarter because our main man was sub out. But we managed to get back in a game trailing by 3. Then everyone confronted us saying that we can beat them. We had the worst performance ever, as far as i'm concerned, during the third quarter. It was a very slumpy quarter for us. We commit petty turnovers like three second violations and travelling. Everything snapped from there. We manage to close the gap to 12 points during the fourth quarter. But exhaustion buried us alive. It is so freaking frustrating. You played at your best yet your team didn't win. Below is the list of possible reasons why we lose.
1. We DON'T have a GOOD COACH - we have a coach but what he only did is to rotate the players. He didn't even bother to call timeouts when the opposing team had a run. He didn't give instructions on defense and offense. The game metamorphose into a street practice game.
2. Our freaking lineup sucks! It is the worst lineup i've ever seen in my entire life. The first five are the only ones who delivered. When one of us was sub out the corresponding position will be emptied. There would be replacements yes but let us face it, the replacements are not good enough.
3. The opposing team is GODLIKE. They have a very deep lineup. Everyone can play any positions. They don't have an ace player. THEY ARE ALL ACE PLAYERS. This is why shuffle type league is bad. There is a chance that all superstars are in one team.
4. The referee won't call it right. Although it is a little bit cliche in Philippine culture, but as far as i know it really happens. I mean there are so many instances that one of our opponent rolled on his back and the referee didn't call a travelling. Once, i was clearly hacked yet there was no foul called.
Oh man. I'll just study polar coordinates and parametric equations to forget this nightmare. I hope that we can play as a team next time. Yep. There is still hope in me.

medyo matagal na akong hindi nagblo-blog post. wahehe. magkwekwento na lang ako. in a kingdom so far far away, there live a man. a great, noble, and handsome man. feeler ako. natawa ka no. hehe. last thursday nagprerog ako para sa math. hindi kasi ako nakaenlist due to some strange reasons. excited ako magprerog dahil first time ko. magkahalong kaba at pagkayamot ang naramdaman ko. pagkayamot dahil "hindi ako dapat nandito kung naenlist ako! required kami kumuha kaya dapat priority kame!" (BGM: thunder effect!~)
ang so, our hero live happily and handsomely ever after. bye!

lapit na rin pasukan namin. pero magblo-blog pa rin ako. so, watch out for me! ayos! thank you ulet ney!

napapansin niyo ba na sumisipag ako mag-post? hehe. wala lang. hopefully i can keep up with this kind of pace. kahit for a long period of time man lang. wala pa ako masyado ma-post na intellectually stimulating topics dahil medyo tinatamad ata umikot yung gears ng utak ko. kapag may naisip ako na medyo INTELLECTUAL umasa kayo na i-post ko agad. ayun lang! ayos!
